What is EEO?

Equal Employment Opportunity refers to equality in hiring, promotion, training, and other personnel activities regardless of race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, or physical or mental impairment. Specific rules and regulations have been enacted to ensure that all Federal workers and candidates for Federal Government employment are given this opportunity.

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) is a federal organization tasked with enforcing and administering civil rights laws in the workplace. It was founded by the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
